I enjoy my Megane for its superb ride, its quality interior, although as you say a little more room in the back would have been appreciated.
The few problems I have encountered, mainly electrical, have been quickly put right by the Renault dealer.
Economical, quick off the mark, great turbo, quiet, smooth, refined. My six foot three inch son sits in the back quite comfortably.
Gadgets are useful and storage areas handy. Service reasonable and fast at dealers.
Put the rear spoiler on, it looks good - it gives good balance to the famous derriere. Very happy after 14 months and 12,000 miles.
I have had my 5dr 1.5dci 100 for 6 months now. Before i had a clio, which i would say was more more fun to drive but doesn't have the quality feel the megane does.
My megane is more at home on the motorway or A roads then on the twisty stuff. The 1.5dci unit pulls well when asked to, but it does get a bit vocal when pushed past 3000 rpm. The gear box is slick and has a sporty short through action.
The ride around town can be a bit hit and miss sometimes but generally its not to bad, it tends to lean a little bit more then i like when asked to make a sharp turn, but that is the nature of the car.
I like the little extra's that can be added like the hands free card, it makes fumbling round for any sort of key a thing of the past and the car is big on safety.
Fuel consumption is good i get about 50mpg out of it and thats traveling at 70-80mph. Inside of the car is well designed nicely laid out and has the feel of a much more expensive car.
The only quibble I have is the steering let go of the wheel and it centres ups far to quickly, you need to have a firm grip on the wheel when going round corners.
Very impressed with the 100bhp 1.5 dCi engine, currently achieving 46mpg overall. Smooth as silk and has very good torque. I also disagree with comments about lack of space at the back - neither of my two teenage daughters complains. The boot, however, is smallish and stupidly has no internal light. Superb stereo system which is very important to the family. I have previously owned a Citroen Picasso and Renault Scenic, but this is the best car I`ve driven. I am now looking at the 1.9 dCi Coupe-Cabriolet.

I just traded in my beloved 56 plate ST2 and I regret it. All I can say is buy one, the car is fantastic with the best thing being the noise the…
