    My car

The head gasket blew on the car last year. Apart from that, no major problems.

    My car

I have just purchased my first megane 1.6 16v fidji coupe. It's late 2002.

I rate the car to drive as excellent. I fell in love with it as soon as I test driven it.

It is packed with extras which come as standard and does 0-60 in about 7.5 seconds.

Pretty nippy for a Renault. What a treat to drive and so far economically sound apart from the ridiculous petrol prices.

Anyway in summing up I believe I got a superb deal and Im very happy with my new car and would urge nyone thinking of buying a megane to consider the 1.6 fidji coupe.

    Happy motoring everyone.

    My car

The 1.4 engine lacks guts for the size of the body. It's a pipe and slippers car!

I have had suspension problems, which required the replacement of the rear shock absorbers under warranty. However, this was a progressive fault which Renault repaired, though they would only replace as each item failed, which led to a lot of inconvenience.

I have had progressive failure of the ignition sytem, requiring the progressive replacement of each of the four ignition coils, again under warranty and with further inconvenience. The immobiliser has also had to be replaced.

Though Reanult has fulfilled its obligations and the AA warranty assistance has been very good, I am not impressed with the Megane. Might I also add that the brake pads and disks had to also be replaced at 22,000 miles.

    My car

I bought this car (1996 P reg 1.4e RN model) for £350, after only doing 55,000 miles. It had a dent in the passenger door but other than that it was in great condition.

The car is my first car and is great to drive, responsive, nippy and there's speed there if needed. I can easily get five adults in there and, although a little slow, it goes fine!

On the motorway, it's a bit loud, but the seats are very comfortable and is pleasant enough.

I've had no major problems with it and it starts every time. I'm extremely happy with this car and have recommended Meganes to my mates!
