Very good car in general.
We have a 1999 model and I regularly polish it but it's still rusting around the back arches.
Excellent on fuel and very good for carying our small baby, which is what it is made for. It is very comfortable but could do whith more adjustment on the steering.
Found that the coils had worn after only 16,000 miles, not very happy with the car, can't wait to change it
No real problems after two years of ownership, which have included 40,000-plus miles.
The immobiliser sometimes goes awry, but locking and unlocking several times usually cures this.
Good interior space, especially with a growing family (being over 6 feet tall, rear legroom can be limited in other cars, but not too bad with the Scenic).
Overall it's reasonably frugal, relatively cheap to run and insure and has the bonus of all the interior space and cubby holes.
Would I buy another - probably!
My Scenic is mechanically of poor quality and unreliable.
The gearbox was destroyed after 43,000km. The clutch slips, and the four-wheel drive is unimpressive.
It's heavy on petrol consumption. The air-conditioning leaks and has not worked since new.
I've found Renault's service and assistance to be poor. Customer relations seem arrogant.
And the warranty is short (two years only). It is expensive but my car seems shoddy. Never again!
