    My car

I drive the automatic version of this car(I am disabled). Considering this and the fact that it is only a 1.6, it is surprisingly lively, with well chosen gear ratios and for a petrol engine, good torque in the midrange. Refinement is good, with wind and particularly road noise well subdued. Handling is more than adequate, if not in the Ford Focus class. I am getting 34.2 mpg in mixed use after 2000 miles. Equipment levels are excellent and I particularly like the automatic wipers which are invaluable in dealing with variable rain and traffic spray. The auto lights are not such a good idea however because I don't think they respond to poor lighting conditions such as fog. I prefer to judge this myself. I can thoroughly recommend this car, although the deisel version would have been my first choice if Renault had made an auto version.

    My car

I HAVE HAD MY SCENIC FOR TWO MONTHS NOW AND FOUND IT TO BE VERY EASY TO DRIVE AND LOADED WITH GADGETS (I LOVE THEM ).

MY ONLY GRIPE IS, AS I AM PARTLY DISABLED, I HAD TO HAVE AN AUTOMATIC, WHICH IS FINE TO DRIVE APART FROM BEING A LITTLE JERKY WHEN COLD. AND IT HAS POOR FUEL CONSUMPTION ONLY GETTING 34MPG ON A RUN AND 23 AROUND TOWN. AS I HAVE ONLY DONE 1000 MILES, IT MIGHT BE THAT IT'S NOT RUN IN YET. I WILL HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE IF THE MPG IMPROVES.

    My car

I purchased my first Scenic 3 years ago. I had just given up my company car and went looking for a replacement. I am 6’4” tall and I just didn't fit any standard cars, my head kept hitting the roof and I was uncomfortable.

I went to Renault and the salesman said “try the Scenic”. I fitted and was impressed by the equipment available. To cut a long story short, I negotiated hard and purchased a Scenic 1.9 DCi.

The only negative - it's not a rewarding drive, it rolls a bit in the corners.

I drive 50 miles a day and this shows the positives. The car is economical, it costs a gallon a day of diesel and I only fill up once a fortnight. The servicing interval is 18,000 miles. The climate control is perfect, the radio adjusts for speed and I haven’t broken down.

I have only had to pay for the standard services and one set of new tyres. Insurance is reasonable but the best bit is the flexibility. There are more storage holes than you need, the seats are easy to take out and it becomes a cavern on wheels.

Take the middle seat out two passengers get luxury car legroom. My parents and in-laws are now getting older and are find getting about difficult. They find it so easy to get in and out of the car. The true life costs (including everything and fuel at today’s prices) is 28 pence a mile. Thre dealers are brilliant and I’ve just got a new Scenic from them.

    My car

Ever since I took delivery of a new Scenic II in March 2004 I have had trouble with the computer intermitently displaying the message 'check parking brake.

It has been into the Renault dealer several times, had sensors changed and new brake mechanisms fitted after the electronic handbrake failed completely just before Christmas.

A new brake mechanism was then fitted but the problen still persists and the dealer has the car back again and is talking about fitting a complete new wiring harness.

I have the temporary use of the dealers Grand Scenic II and guess what, the same error message has so far appeared twice!!

Has any one else similar problems??
