I brought this little car, in a stunning blue colour, in Christmas 2002. It's a 52-reg Spirit, and over the last four years of ownership, the little car has done 65,000 miles, including a trip to Denmark, and constant Birmingham to Portsmouth runs every weekend.
It has been back to the dealer twice with regards to warranty claims; one was for a passenger seat that collapsed, and a leaky boot. Both were put right first time, and after two years of ownership, the dealer in Birmingham was/is great, and the service manager extremely helpful.
On its third service last year, I was loaned a Streetwise 1.4 SE, and all I can say is what a pile of manure that was - I was glad to give it back.
Overall, it's a top-quality little car, with comfortable seats and a big boot for class. It's a top car, I'll be sad when she goes next month.
i have hade my 25 x reg for about 8 months.i find the car to be very good in the town as well as on a long run. for the first 2 months i had my 25 i wos doing about 150 miles a week. and it has never let me down it is very nippy for a 1.6 it has got leather trim. which wos a extra on this model but even the cloth trim models are a good looking car i think. and you get a lot of car for your money. and my wife has got a old rover 414 sli on a k reg and if the 25 is as good as car as that. ( which up to now it has bean) i will be very happy .
I have had a rover 25 2.0TD from new Dec 2001. A fantastic small car has never let me down.My son has driven the car from Northern Ireland to Germany three times and found it good.I dont understand all the bad press this car gets for the price I give it VG.The car has covered 60000 miles and going strong.
It is nice to drive and be a passenger in ride is firm but, it's capable. The seats are made from high-quality you can tell they are so comfy. Dash is tough well-built and boot is good size too. Air-con is nice on a warm day. They is enough room inside it's roomy up front. It's a solid quality British car which flys it's flag proudy at the back. Shame they now going to built in the UK my mate Howard says the Chinese built one's will fall apart. I say to him stop having a go we haven't seen one yet!!
