Am on my second 9-5, had it for the last 4 years, great car! Only one prob I have noticed, you cannot have drivers seat fully back if rear seats are folded down, so being tall I find it a bit cramped to drive if fully loaded up, but I rarely need such a huge amount of space. Depreciation is a problem for some reason, but it makes second hand ones a real bargain. Fairly good on fuel considering the size of it, seats are best I have ever come across, dash layout is very logical and easy to live with. Drove BMW's for many years but would not go back to one, Saab is the car for me, been driving 9-5's since 2001. I may get another one in the next year or so, probably a diesel this time.
I have owned this car for almost a year now. On the plus side, it is a very practical family car and great for cruising. On the downside, I have had to replace (i) turbo charger, (ii) two shock absorbers, (iii) power steering pump, (iv) airbag and (v) battery, all in less than a year! Not really what I was expecting in a car that is now just over a year old with 11k on the clock but perhaps I have been unusually unlucky. Fortunately all under warranty but as soon as that expires I will be getting rid of the SAAB and replacing it with another Fiat, which I used to drive and found faultlessly reliable!
i love this car, always over looked a saab till i test drove it. Has been excellent throughout, no problems, yes the economy is low, but with all that power and refinement, its worth overlooking.
