    My car

On the downside: 1. the SID unit display is unreliable; I have had it removed and repaired a couple of times and I don't think it likes the hot weather (replacement cost is ridiculous). 2. The car suffers from understeer and so feels a bit nervous in some corners. 3. Front tyre wear is excessive. 4. It is an expensive car to maintain: neither service or parts are cheap. 5. Depreciation is much sharper than a 3 Series or C Class say, so one has to be careful. I bought mine at three years old and will probably sell it at six years, but again, it's not cheap motoring.

On the upside. 1. For power and ride quality the 95 is far superior to the Mercedes C200 I owned previously. The engine is super responsive and has a lovely note, and the acceleration is excellent. 2. It is a really attractive car and has grown on me a lot and I now think it one of the best looking cars on the road. I like that the Saab is not as flashy or ostentatious as a BMW. 3. It's very spacious inside, and the cabin is excellent overall, and I find the car very "friendly" in general

Fortunately, I haven't experienced any of the mechanical problems that my fellow reviewers have noted here. Maybe I'm just lucky. In sum, I will definitely buy another 95, and hopefully convince my Mrs to drive it so I can get an older 911!

    My car

More like a Merc than a Beemer in character (I have done lots of miles in both) turbo provides good overtaking ability but my old 1992 525sport handled far better. Cabin space is better than anyone else this side of a 4x4 and a very comfortable place to be, boot is huge. I changed from a Legacy estate to a 95 saloon and was amazed at how much would fit in. Longer I have this car the more I like it. Beware running costs though - New turbo @ £800 just after 60K warranty ran out was sore point in my house. Servicing high £££. My Advice - Don't buy without Dealer backed Warranty.

Saab, Your having a laugh. i own a 1999 9-5 aero turbo. It has 50,000 original miles on it I can guarantee this because i know the previous owner and he bought it direct from a main Saab dealer. Now lets start it is on its third audio sid display and its second air con display, what a laugh. it has 17 oil leaks on it and also needs a new timing chain. it has had the the oil sump filter changed twice in 5,500 miles. has a major leak on the head gasket. and would you beleive? it has never missed a Saab recomended service. I AM NOW GOING TO BUY LEXUS OR CHRYSLER OR GO BACK TO FORD thats saying something. come on Saab you admitted that your original sids had proplems now put a reasonably priced replacement on sale

    My car

9-5 Aero Estate auto A great car for motorway driving, sound, fast, safe, good ride, excellant seats. Off the motorway the chassic, steering and balance of the car cannot cope with the power. There is little point in having 250bhp at your disposal if it cannot manage to put the power onto the tarmac. Handling is poor and in the wet....forget it. It needs a real sports suspension, 4WD or RWD, a good traction control system together, whatever to cope. Regards
