This is my second Alhambra, I have had this one three years now, not had a single problem at all with it.
Six kids, ran a youth footy team at weekends and use it for work, for which it is very economical.
Comfortable with great all-round visibility I'd reccomend it to anyone thinking of buying a people carrier.
I own a 2001 Alhambra 115 TDI S for my business as a private hire/chauffeur driver.
It has now covered 126,000 miles with very little trouble. I have serviced the vehicle every 10,000 miles.
The only small problem is that the interior trim has come loose in a couple of places and is starting to look a little shabby.
This is more to do with the type of use the car gets I think. For this reason I am in the process of looking to buy a newer (2004?) Alhambra (SE spec?) because this one has been so good and value for money compared to the Sharan & Galaxy.
This is the best vehicle I've ever driven. It does what it's supposed to do comfortably and economically.
I am on my second Alhambra - a 1.9 TDI Signo - the model lineup in Ireland is different and I have chosen the nearest in the British line up.
It handles well when moved on - Irish roads are a real test of the car set up - not much motorway driving.
It is relaxing to drive but when moved along on motorways has noticable wind noise from the A pillars. It gives a feeling of solid build and in the three years I had the previous model (new) 01 to 04. It only required a replacement boot catch. The dealer was execellent. All fittings etc stood up well to our four children - a previous Renault did not.
Packing with all six of us on board needs a bit of thinking through but despite what some might say, it can be done and with some style.
I have had this one for the past six months and have no problems at all. Well worth buying.

Bought a 2003 model 2.0 HDi diesel second hand in 2004 and still running it in 2012. 11,000 miles at purchase is now 113,000. Never broken down, but…
