    My car

I've owned an 02 plate Ibiza for 3 years. Other than a problem with the alternator (fixed under warranty - twice) and a problem with the rear screen wash pipe (a known problem) it's had no repairs. The ride is hard, but i'm used to it now; performance and economy are both good. I'm looking forward to trading this in against another one in the near future.

    My car

I bought the car, 2nd hand from a dealer in Hastings. They were extremely helpful & knowledgeable & so far I recommend them...

As for the car, it's surprisingly noisy, even for a diesel. The ride is a little too firm, though not helped by the dreadful roads around Eastbourne! Not the kind of car you could fall asleep in on a long journey. I mean, personally I can't see the point in "sports suspension" and low profile tyres if all you do is end up a pain in the neck and posterior.

That aside, acceleration is excellent, smooth & powerful and gives you the confidence to get out of tricky situations. Full consumption is allegedly good, though perhaps the computer is faulty to the detriment of my driving technique! The sound system does what it says on the tin and size wise the car is just right for a small family. It's a good looker too and turns heads.

Overall, it's good value for its money though Seat really should look at some of the negative gremlins some of you have mentioned already.

    Safe driving everyone!

    My car

I've owned a 54-plate Ibiza for two years and have had no problems at all.

I can only praise this car. If you're a careful, considerate and economical driver and treat the car with respect (unlike how most people treat cars!) the car will treat you well.

No problems equal no extra costs, and fuel economy is fantastic I can easily get over 40mpg. The 1.2-litre engine copes with any situation (unless you're not a good driver!) and has plenty of power.

I suspect that having read the reviews here most people would be put off buying one... don't, as I suspect a lot of problems are a result of not taking care of the cars and driving them hard.

In my experience the 1.2 is well specified, totally reliable, very economical and fun!

    My car

I have owned this car for the past two years, and I am very impressed with it. The size of the car is ideal, the running costs are good, it's very nippy and cruises nicely on the motorway.

Over the past few months I've considered changing it, and the mini came into the framework - purely because I wanted a smaller car as I no longer do the mileage back and forth to work as I used to. However, there is simply no comparison, and when I do decide to change the car, it will most definitely be more of the same.

My only complaint about the Ibiza (mine is on a 04 plate), is the lack of a boot light. Minor I know, but annoying none the less. However, a friend of mine has one on an 06 plate, which has the boot light but no heated wing mirrors. Personally, I would suffer the lack of a bootlight, but would prefer to have both.

In a nutshell though, I love the car, and so does my father who has exactly the same model, but six months older.
