    My car

This is probably the best car Seat ever made and definitely the best car in this range - family cars. Bought brand new - 6 years and 125k+ miles later it still drive like a dream. The drive was fantastic, costs were very low and this was an exceptionally reliable car. Very little if anything ever went wrong with it. The only thing I had to change were tyres and brake light bulbs. The remote control locking did play up at 110k, but Seat told me its only £70 to fix!

Unfortunately mine got written-off because someone crashed into me on the M4! Very annoyed at loosing the best car I had ever driven - list includes Fords, Rover, Renault, Peugeot, Vauxhall (rental), BMW and Merc.

Its a pity Seat stopped making them in 2005, otherwise I would have bought another one!

178,000miles on the clock and still going strong. I was so sorry to change this car. '99 model. I ususally, prefer smaller cars but this felt so smooth to drive.

    My car

This car has provided me with low cost and enjoyable motoring. 90,000 miles when I bought it, it now has 130,000 miles on the clock.

It drives like a new car. No rattles and the metallic blue paint looks great. Servicing has been reasonable, and it's been very economical. The interior has quite of a lot of hard plastics inside by new car (2008) standards, but it's still a nice A3-like dash. When it has gone wrong, it's been minor electrical glitches common to VW Golfs and Audi A3s(broken side window wires, radio, windscreen wipers and heater).

The boot is huge, and it will cope fine with a trip to Ikea. However, there some things where you really need a hatchback or an estate car. The door drainage channels need to be kept clear, as the rear doors can let in water in a downpour. An annual poke with a chopstick does the trick.

As with Golf and A3 diesels, the cam belt needs changing every 60,000 miles (VW now say every 3 years). I'm now planning to replace it, and it looks like it has depreciated £4,000 over the five years I've owned it.

    My car

1.6s with 164k still used to do 2k miles a month - still original clutch and exhaust.(it does help that it has been serviced every 10k miles) Not the quickest car on earth, nor is it the fanciest but suprisingly it is smoother on the motor way than my 2002 BMW E46 325i! The engine is a little thrashy but it pulls ok, I dont understand the niggles that everyone mentions about the poor quality interior, the majority of the dash has been lifted from an Audi A3! overall a very solid car.
