I went for the Level 2 but decided that I could not resist the Level 3 wheels which give the car that something extra in looks!
What about the cabin? Very spacious all round. I love the white trim inside and seats are very comfortable. Like your music? Awesome "DANCE" mp3 system, I recommend a "CHORD" £49.95 wire which you can connect one end to your AUX port, and the other into your MP3. The quality is incredible! The boot is huge for a small car, so don’t worry about a big shop at the supermarket. 300 Litres of space to be exact! Plus not forgetting the seats fold down.
Areas for improvement? My only gripe is the fact that you can't change records via the dance panel or no controls on the steering wheel! When the mp3 is connected. Level 3 will give certain extra luxuries to the vehicle, but do you really require them?
What about the running costs? Well no problems here either! I topped the tank up and it only cost me £30! And that was 2 weeks ago I still got half a tank left and I do a good few miles every day. It seems that Skoda have got the "HTP" (High Torque Performance) new engines well engineered. When you take away a new Skoda it's taxed for the year by them and you even get 3 years breakdown cover with the RAC should you ever be caught out in the woods somewhere!
Overall a beautiful engineered motor vehicle with low running costs and the entire essentials one could hope for without the burn hole in the pockets!
GO BUY ONE!!
I am very pleased with this model, the only fault I find is slight wind noise on drivers side which the garage tried to eliminate by adjusting the door keep, but without success. Was interested to note that one other owner noticed this.
I have just taken delivery of my new Fabia - and what a car! I have downsized from a 1.6 Ambiente Octavia but the build and quality of this new car so far are first class.
It has a lot of features that would cost extra on the Octavia, eg curtain airbags, cruise control, foglights, rear parking sensors and digital climate control. My car is metallic beige and the colour really suits it, especially as it looks like you have darkened windows when they are only standard windows.
The deal I got was fantastic so it is definately well worth shopping around. Spacewise it seems fine and even better car tax is only £35 a year.
My only minor critiscism is that, from the driver's seat, it is difficult to work out where the front of the bonnet is. But you soon get over that.
All in all, anyone looking for a good quality small car should definately give this one a look.
I have just ordered this car for september delivery. I test drove various other cars along the "Super Mini" range including the Suzuki Swift and SX4, non of them really convincing me that I needed to buy one. Most of them having a cheap plastic interior and poor quality fabric on the seats. I am downsizing from a Renault Scenic 1.6 Dynamique now just over two years old, which has given me a lot of problems,of which there a numerous listings of on this site. Anyhow,as soon as I started to drive the New Fabia I knew it was the car for me. I am six foot two, and it takes some for me to get into a comfortable driving position. The seat adjustments are great, and the height adjuster is just right. Added together with height and rake adjustment on the steering wheel, and you get a perfect postion for all builds. The car drives very well and feels positive at all speeds. It was suprisingly nippy for a 1.2 - 3 cylinder engine There is hardly any road noise, and just a slight wind noise form the drivers side, but it was a very windy day on my test drive. The build quality is apparant as soon as you get into the car. Yes there is a lot of plastic to the dash but it is not cheap looking, as with a lot of the other cars I tried.Close the doors and you hear a dull thunk rather than a tiny clank! All in all, I think this is one of the best cars in its class.Together with low road tax, low insurance, and a price tag that will keep my bank balance happy, I love it.
