    My car

I absolutely love driving this car! I spent a whole year researching and test driving cars in this category before making up my mind.

Buying this car was the best decision I have ever made! I took delivery of my new Octavia in June from a very efficient and helpful Skoda dealer in Derby.

This car is such a pleasure to drive and I look forward to journeys of any length in it - the longer the better!

I have the sports suspension and 17 inch alloys on my model and I am so pleased I agreed to is addition as it looks fab (in sahara beige) and feels fab too. It is an economical drive and the added extras in the Elegance model are superb. I cannot recommend this car highly enough!

    My car

I placed an order in June of this year for an Octavia L&K Estate 1.9 DSG.

The order form quite clearly states that my requirement was for an L&K. The brochure supplied by Skoda UK quite clearly states that the L&K was/is available.

Last week I took delivery of my new car.The invoice states that I have paid for, and taken delivery of, a Skoda Octavia Estate 1.9 DSG L&K.

Upon closer inspection of the vehicle documentation however, which is supplied by Skoda, it states that the vehicle is actually a Skoda Elegance! I am horrified!

I would like Skoda UK how my vehicle can be identified in the future as an L&K for resale purposes! Put simply, legally this vehicle is NOT an L&K! It is an Elegance with some optional extras added.

For resale purposes it is an Elegance!

This, surely, is misrepresentation under the sale of goods act?

I also have concerns regarding the current legal vehicle insurance identification declaration.

I am further irritated by the fact that I had previously asked both Skoda UK and the local dealer to confirm that the L&K was actually an L&K and not an Elegance (May 2005).

Skoda UK failed to answer and the local dealer would only give verbal assurances based on the content of the Skoda Octavia brochure.

DO NOT BUY AN L&K THINKING IT IS AN L&K - CLEARLY IT IS NOT!!!

Excellent value for money, quality and performance. Why pay more to buy a Golf?

    My car

This car is conservately styled but well equipped, well built (almost the equal of a relative's A4 Avant), well priced and economical to run.

It drives and rides well (although it's hardly sporting) and the refinement is good considering the age of the engine.

The DSG gearbox is sublime and rarely caught out in normal driving, although occasionally hunts between gears when trying to maintain a steady speed uphill.

The interior plastics are of a good quality and the fit and finish is also good. The space front and rear is excellent, particularly in the rear, and bootspace is also good if slightly narrow.

One minor complaint is that the boot floor is stepped and, once a mat is in place, the stowage under the false floor (in the Elegance version) is not readily usable.

Overall four stars - it takes some beating for the price.
