Nice, very nice! car has now nearly done 42K miles and going strong. the gear shift has gone a wee bit notchy, but i think thats a sign of a fading clutch and the 50K service may help that. the rear windshield was replaced under warranty and it started to rattle. had to take the car 3 times back to MB Leeds to sort it, which they did. the car is otherwise a cracker, does a straight 70MPG on an average. I use her for motorway miles only although. I might sell the car now, wont keep a diesel past 50000 miles. Lets see. shall move away from the MB brand as labour charges are not good value for money, coupled with a snobbish dealership. Might go in for a 1.5 diesel Hyundai I30 or a Kia Ceed Hatch!
I have had my Smart Car for 3 years, it is an 06 plate and has done under 30,000 miles. I use it to get to and from the train station - 10 miles each way, although I dont use it everyday and for longer journey with family use other car. I recently had to spend over £1,000 to get the clutch repaired as it had completely burnt out - according to Mercedes - normal wear and tear which is completely crazy. Avoid this car its not worth the hassle!
I have owned Smarts for over 5 years, my Forfour just over a year now. I average 17K miles a year and she's never once let me down, even in the bad winter months earlier this week where most were stranded!
It's comfortable too..although a bit jolty and crashy over rough roads but that's forgiven as it's very reliable and economical (I average around 65MGP but have seen up to 74).
Only thing I spent on the car have been a full service and brake pads and discs all round, that's it!
Handles well, smooth gear changes where as my Roadster was lurchy and lagging, acceleration is a surprise to many unsuspecting driver or indeed passenger!
I would definitely purchase another with same spec but lower miles.
i have now owned this car from sep 08. cost me 6K , with 8K miles. the car is superb, came with a one year unlimited mileage warranty. then went in for some niggles and the dealer tried to charge me! also, the service folks dont seem very keen on customer care or satisfaction, but well, how frequently do you see them? maybe they prefer the no questions asking mercedes folks. car is a cracker, gives me about 65 MPG, no exxageration at all. very smooth, but the engine can be heard at idle, once you get rolling, you dont hear anything !
I have this car as a courtesy car as my own was smashed by an idiot running into my back and have now done 500 miles. I'll be positive first,…
Just sold my Panda after 5 years of trouble free driving,I only got rid of it because a slightly bigger car was needed. I would be happy to…
