An excellent car to challenge Audi and BMW with the added benefit of 4wd.
The quality is excellent, 35mpg from a 2.5 auto is excellent and the 3d navigation system is superb.
Handling is also superb with a phenominal ability in the bends for an estate car.
A first class car that many more Audi and BMW owners shoudl try before going to the obvious.
Seems strange to mark as 5-star overall but an experience urges me to do so and let other people know.
I was driving along the motorway in heavy traffic with all three lanes at about 50mph. As everyone is aware in these circumstances, you are often slowly passed by vehicles on your inside lane and I remember being passed by a very large lorry in lane 1, I was in the centre lane.
My car then slowly passed the lorry and the next thing I knew was being turned over. According to witnesses the lorry pulled out of the inside lane just as I was passing him hit the back quarter of my car and rolled it over.
The car then rolled 3 to 4 times towards the hard shoulder, hit and split a concrete bollard on the side of the motorway, travelled up the embankment then slid down and ended up upside down on the hard shoulder.
Naturally I am talking about the safety aspects of the Legacy as despite being very badly damaged (written off) I climbed out of the car in one piece and, whilst I still have back pains, there does not appear to be any other injury.
The overall structure of the car remained intact, the curtain airbag was deployed and the seat belt tightened holding me in place in the driver's seat, albeit upside down.
In rerospect, I find it difficult to believe that I got away with this and can only praise the safety features in the car. It is to be replaced with another new one hopefully this week.
