    My car

The Swift is an award winning package. It has good looks, is technically advanced and well designed. It has everything you desire and is not nearly as expensive as its main rivals, such as the Mini, Volkswagen Polo, Seat Ibiza and Toyota Yaris. You will be hard pressed to find a bad report on the new Swift, so let me concentrate on two things not often mentioned in reviews.

I like the Automatic gearbox. The Swift is a new supermini which does not use the dreaded CVT. It has a conventional four-speed automatic gearbox that is well matched to the 1.5-litre engine. You can put it in drive and forget about it, or if you want, choose the gears manually. I love the way you can move with a light upward touch from drive to neutral at traffic lights.

I dont like the small type in red - men are much more likely to be colour blind than women. The problem colours are red and green. The trip computer and clock looks neat, and from a design point of view fits smartly into the clean-looking dash, but it is too small to read easily and is red.

The Swift is awesome compared to the Honda Jazz. The driving control is perfect and it has a a small turn radius. The only thing bothering me is the audio equipment pre-installed by Clarion and the volume of the boot. Since I'm an audio maniac, I need to look another way to upgrade.

    My car

I have owned this car since October 2005, and although I have enjoyed driving it and its features generally, it has recently developed a number of rattles, particularly from the front doors. I notice that Tom Kettless has had the same issue, and wonder whether he has had it resolved.

    My car

We love this car - it's practical for driving around town, yet is quick enough for motorway driving, too. I have found fuel economy is good, particularly as I use the Swift for commuting daily.

As a woman driver, the Swift suits me perfectly and it's a joy to drive.

In answer to the comments about the de-mister and the windscreen fogging up - you need to read the manual. In cold, foggy weather, you need to run the heater and the air-conditioning together. This very quickly demists the windows with no problems at all.

I have also found the service from Suzuki dealers both before and after purchasing the car to be excellent, with nothing being too much trouble for them.
