    My car

Well, I finaly joined the rat race and bought a "familly" car and have broken away from the mold of the small sports hatch... and why oh why has it taken me so long?

I turned up at a Toyota dealer and saw my next car sitting there. nice colour, good design "but not too flashy".

My old car was a 2-year-old Fiat Stilo and there could not be more difference between the two for build quality and ride. When you sit in the cabin you really feel like this could be a Lexus or BMW - just cheaper.

Everything was where it should be and is easy to read, the Sat Nav is a real bonus too and doesn't take up half the dashboard like on other cars and could be mistaken for being just a radio screen.

The seats are comfortable but there is a lack of an ajustable lumber support on this model.

The room in the back is huge and the boot could be used for a party it's so big. And that is the reason I needed a car of this size.

The engine copes with the motorways very well and the auto box allows me to sit in heavy traffic (a trend for today's roads) and not worry about gears. On the open road the semi-auto is also available for dropping the gears to overtake the darn tractor that infront of you.

Overall I'm looking forward to the next few years of owning an Avensis. This car I know already after a couple of weeks will last a lot longer than that.

Well done Toyota. I recomend this car.

    My car

I have test driven this car twice and found it to be both comfortable and enjoyable.

It has great mid-range pull on the motorway and I found that up hills it easily pulled past drivers who were slowing down due to the steepness of the gradient.

Around town, it's a smooth drive and has plenty of acceleration to pull away at a decent speed.

I have recently ordered one as a new company car and I am awaiting delivery. When I test drove it, I found that there was plenty of space to house the family and all of the junk that you carry around with 2 kids. Also, the standard kit that is provided is excellent on this model with extra nice touches such as the brushed steel effect console and the dual Climate Control feature. All round a superb car to drive and own.
