    My car

2 adults 4 growing kids - owned a previa for 8 years (no faults but large and thirsty) - so what to buy? Lots of research shows zafira/touran comedy rear seats+no boot space+unreliable. Sharan/galaxy unreliable. Corolla Verso too small. Then read about avensis verso. Found 3 year old D4D ex company car. Owned for 3 years now, totally reliable, 50 mpg, powerful, manageable in town, beautifully comfortable on journeys, can seat 7 + luggage because of clever under-boot!! we just fold 1 rear seat and it takes 6 of us + 6 cases and outdoor gear. Oh and it has PROPER rear seats which will take an adult with leg room. 3 individual centre seats with hue legroom. Seperate rear aircon/heating. Superb long term purchase-toyota expensive-but you get what you pay for.

    My car

This is my first people carrier and, with a young family of three children, this car has been a god-send.

It's suitably furnished inside and has all the practical add-ons needed when travelling with small children.

Many of the other people carriers were small and enclosed inside, with the two extra seats very small.

This car is airy, roomy and has two proper extra seats which easily fold and can be removed completely. Other larger people carriers appeared very bulky and big to drive, making the Toyota a perfect size.

This car has been extremely reliable, not too hard to fuel, and has reasonable service charges. I would definitely buy this vehicle again.

    My car

Contrary to the comments I have read in the general review, I found the Avensis rewarding to drive, economical (for an MPV of this size) and more comparable in size to a VW Sharan or Ford Galaxy than a VW Touran!

It lacks some of refinement but represents good value and incudes sat nav as standard on the T Spirit.
