This car is a nice drive and handles well.
Also, you get a excellent boost of power when you hit about 5000rpm, excellent car!
A good car all round. Bought new and got a very good deal. £10k OTR. Repairs are expensive - a new radiator was £270 - not good since the car is only 12 months old. Replacement aerial was £28. Petrol consumption is considerably high. Apparently the 1.6 has even worse MPG than the 1.4. If you have a noisy engine at around 3k revs - don't panic. Apparently this is a design fault and Toyota will correct it for free by packing the offending area.
Comfortable, feels solid on the road, handles well, economical.
I find it hard to understand why this car gets consistently high reviews in the press. It is bland, its handling is average, fuel consumption very poor. I'm not overly tall (6ft) but find headroom ridiculously limited.
I have only had the car a few weeks now and hope that I can grow into it. It seemed so much better when being test-driven. After I've had it a few months I will update my views (if necessary), but until then I would not recommend buying one.
