    My car

I have owned this 1997 Corolla G6 for four-and-a-half years, and it has been faultless. Apart from general wear and tear and regular dealer servicing, I have not had to spend any extra money on it.

I'm currently looking to buy a newer car, as my car is almost 10 years old now, but I'm finding it hard to find a suitable car comparable to the Corolla which also has the reliabilty of this car for a budget of around £4000!

Toyotas aren't the cheapest cars, but I think you get what you pay for , and with Toyota you get a quality car with peace of mind.

My car is only a 1.3, but it's a 16-valve injection engine, so I've got the best of both worlds - cheaper road tax and good fuel economy, but the car drives like a 1.6.

It's group 9 insurance, though, but I only pay £233 a year fully comprehensive with protected no claims, so it's not bad at all.

The six-speed gear box is good. It's a very comfortable car to drive, has a fully adjustable driver's seat and twin airbags, and huge boot space.

I will be selling it reluctantly because it has been a top-class car to own.

    My car

I actually have a 1.8 T-Sport, but What Car does not seem to have it on the system.

The acceleration at high end on this car is fantastic, forget some of the negative reviews. It can easily out pace Audi TT's and the Golf GTI, especially if you get a K&N filter fitted!!

One of the glorious things about this car is the fact to all intents and purposes it looks like a ordinary Corolla, until you put your foot down and rocket away from the Mondeo that was tailgating you for the last 2 miles!

The handling is very tight, but is best when the traction control is turned off for the real fun factor.

The car can be very civilised when driven conservatively, and can achieve up to 35mpg.

But the only reason to have this car is for putting a smile on your face, and it does that every day.

    My car

I've had this car for three years and the only problem has been with the wheels corroding (changed under warranty).

Although the cabin is now quite dated the reliability, handling and performance make up for this.

Fuel economy ranges from 34 to 40 mpg depending on whether my wife or myself drive it. And servicing costs are low.

Rear legroom is a little restricted but if we need to take more than 2 people out we use our Avensis. I would recommend the Corolla as it is a pleasure to drive and fairly cheap to insure even though it does thrill when driven hard.

I would part with this car only for a Corolla T-sport or Celica.

    My car

This is the best built car I have ever owned. It's very nice to drive. Nothing has ever gone wrong in seven years. Only consumables have been replaced.
