Big enough for 7 adults.
I tend to drive quite steady but I have also found that the computer over reads by about 10% on my actual mpg. It normally shows that I have an average mpg of 65 - 75 mpg. However I normally only get 60 mpg when calculating it myself from litres filled up and miles done on that tank.
The fuel gauge shows the tank is half full after I have done 350 miles, and the computer reads that it has zero miles range after 600 miles. However when I fill the tank up to the top I can only get 45 litres in at best even though the tank is supposed to hold 55 litres. 700 miles per tank should be possible.
Bad
Poor turning circle, front armrests too small to be comfortable, cup holders can only take the smallest sized water bottles, right turn indicator self cancels too early (if you are turning right on a roundabout and have to initially turn left it will cancel), electric windows and radio don't work unless the key is in the ignition and start button is pressed. Headlights don't project very far unless on full beam, computer can only show one piece of info at a time (not possible to see both the clock and current mpg at the same time etc - connecting a Scan Gauge to the OBD2 port under the steering wheel solves this problem plus it gives you temperature readings rather than a blue and red light).
I own from 2005 a 2.2D-4D Verso with manual 6 speed gearbox. After 2 yeaars of use have experienced the following problem: In the morning after getting on road it was very hard to shift from 1 to 2 and from 2 to 3, same from 3 to 2 and 2 to 1. After 30 minutes of driving there is no more problem. It looks I am having the problem just with the cold engine. I have been in service, they have checked the gearbox, there were no problem there, they have changed some spare parts but the problem is still there. Now they are saying they cannot do anything. Very reliable car indeed. For me its simple: today Toyota, tomorrow sell your toyota and then never toyota.
I just want to add to the existing comments regarding the MMT gearbox. I thought I had a 'unique' experience today on the M20 when it selected neutral and left me with no drive in the fast lane!
By good fortune I was able to coast to the hard shoulder where it I had to turn the engine off and back on to get the thing working again.
This forum shows that this appears to be a common problem. The gearchange on this 'box is shocking and you have to learn how to make smooth gearchanges, apart from slow moving stop-start motorway use when you can forget all about 'smooth.
Overall it's a good car let down by a rubbish gearbox.
This is my wife's car and we have been experiencing horrendous problems with the MMT gearbox and the ECU - The car is back with the main dealer who have adjusted it but to no avail - the car is dangerous and my wife is nervous of driving it due to the fact that the car dies on any given fast road she happens to be driving on. We have written to Toyota and got VOSA involved (Governments safety body) - if anyone is having similar problems with their Verso and wishes to join us to sort this out en masse, please email me: peter@glyn.com.
