    My car

I bought a new in May 05. It's the real 4x4 for on/off the road.

Reports compare other 4x4s by how good they're ON the road and by taking the kids at school! I bought it because of its proven reliability & quality, engineering and real off road capability! No other 4x4 can do that! Why else UN only uses Land Cruisers?!They do not just drive on the desert; they also drive in the cities, too!

If I wanted to "speed" down the motorway I would have bought a Porchse Cayenne 4x4; then again you cannot even do that on the UK motorways!! Thank God for the German autobahns!!! Driving the LC5 on a motorway or road, is no problem at all. Especially when you know how to use the suspension settings properly!

The Nan-Sat is brilliant and all other gadgets, too! It would help if the rear end seats could fold flat on the floor. Control buttons however on the steering wheel, are necessary for safety and convenience. The average 30-34mpg, is very respectable.

The real test came when we drove to Ireland for Xmas. Once we arrived in south Ireland [long trip BUT very comfortable!] I decided that this is a unique opportunity to put the car to its paces. So I did! We drove up and down the mountain tracks, thru thick mud, over many large stones, used all the special buttons i.e: low ratio gears, differential control, down hill assist, hill ascent, raised the car "up" when we drove through small rivers, and had no problem driving on a sand dune penninsula! No problem!

    That's why I ca

    My car

This is a fantastic car, and is really comfortable and luxurious. What a pity that the dealership did not have good knowledge of the vehicle they were selling.

The steering wheel is not as chunky as on the Amazon, and I cannot believe they did not add steering wheel controls considering they place such value on safety.

There is one small problem you may want to check out - the height sensors are a known problem. If your vehicle looks higher than it should, get it checked.

    My car

One of the best cars we've had.. its never given us any trouble at all and the only niggle is the boot latch but nothing that caused the car to be out of action.

The engine is gutsy and fuel economy is much better than our previous ML270 CDI which was appalling in ALL aspects.

Maybe Toyota could do with making rear seats which fold into the floor like in ther Verso and Land Rover Discovery for increased versatility.

    Overall fantastic!

    My car

If a 4x4 is good off road its no Porsche on road...accept that and you will be happy..... that's certainly the case with the Landcruiser...mind you the torque this 3.0 litre D4D Engine produces makes for pleasant performance...if your looking for heavy clutches clunking transfer boxes poor main dealership servicing buy a Land Rover Defender.... Trust me these Toyotas are tough strong reliable vehicles....Think with your head not your heart buy one you will not be sorry.

Cons.... It's sometimes difficult to find correct driving seat position...smaller drivers complain that they can't attain enough seat height.
