This car is alot of fun to drive, I have read alot of reviews on fuel economy and everyone says that it is cheap to run, however in the SMT model half a tank usually lasts less than 3 days as I commute 30 mins to work on a daily basis. My heavier 1.8 Astra Coupe is lighter on the petrol. However beside that, I cannot believe the fun you can have in this thing. Auto gearbox or not, the back end can still let go when you request and I am surprised that the tyres have lasted so long with still lots of tread left.
I have to keep the car in the garage overnight in case of sudden downpour as water seems to get in to the back compartment and comes through in to the cup holder between the seats.
I do like the car, I just think that it was built for one thing.... going round corners sideways.
I share a 2004 model with a friend. So much fun for such a good price. As everyone knows not very practical but I've got a Corolla for that. Acceleration is amazing, fuel economy good on the rare occasion I'm not raking it, very smooth gearbox, comfortable seats, great sound, fantastic looking. Also the usual excellent Toyota reliability and service. Very disappointed Toyota stopped making them, but maybe a new one will come along some day.
What other sports car or convertible of this power only needs serviced every 20,000 miles? That's double the mileage of a vauxhall VX220!
The reliability is amazing, economy is 38-40mpg when not booted, and it has brilliant handling in the dry. However, in the wet this car can be very unforgiving - I have had mine sideways on a few occasions.
Power is excellent, going from 0-60 in just 8 seconds, however the top speed is a bit disappointing, hitting 125mph. My mate beat my top speed in his 1.6 Citroen Saxo!
I definetly recommend these cars for cheap motoring fun!
I have owned this car for two years and have had no mechanical problems with it.
It runs smoothly and is fun to drive.
Economy is good and dealer service is the best there is.
Luggage space is non-existent and it is very cramped in the cabin - but everyone knows this.
Would recommend.

Amazing car, once driven, never forgotton, forget all the pretenders like BMW Z4 and Mercedes SLK, they will never have the passion of a Porsche
I love this car! Handling is great, its fun to drive and even reasonably practical!
