    My car

i learned to drive in this car car. and im now buying one. handles really nicely and is a pretty smoothe ride, instructor had the car at 94000 miles on a 54 plate, and had only wear and tear problems. altho the handbrake is not the best, you have to pull it basically fully up so the car wont move even on a straight. the only other thing is that the controls are a bit sticky, sometimes the indicators and wipers need a bit of a toggle with to go off, but i would say this is a pretty good car.

    especially for a first car.

    My car

I owned 3 succesive Corsa, the last one for over 2 years. A bit contradictory to give it 4 out 5 in the sections but only 3 out of 5 overall, but my main concerns aren't listed in the sections.

Good acceleration for a 1.2, over 40 mpg most of the time, low tax and a low insurance group all made the Corsa fairly cheap to own. The two year service interval was good for keeping the costs down, but with potetntial problems building up, it could prove costlier in the long run.

The handbrake would always creak and never inspired confidence, needing to be on 3 or 4 notches on a flat surface to stop me being able to push it. I specifically had the handbrake adjusted during a service, but 2 months later it was bad again. Had an O2 sensor replaced under warranty without problems, but it made me wonder how long the new one would last! After hearing many stories of sensors failing, steering racks being replaced and gear linkage problems I bailed out of Vauxhall ownership before the 3 year warranty ran out!

So nearly a great little car, no matter what some say, but times moved on and the Corsa didn't. The new Corsa didn't appeal to me so I went elsewhere.

I learned to drive in this car and it was bland boring and not enjoyable to drive at all! I prefer my B Class that iv'e got at the moment!
