Im a Boy Racer at heart and have had a Honda Type R and a Golf GTi, however, this car is a massive let down - only good thing is the performance. If you want to feel every bump in the road and have a season ticket for your local petrol station then buy it !!!! Would not advise
bought this car in june 08, flame red, certainly a head turner !!!.fantastic performance,0-60 in 6.8 seconds, the recaro seat's are great, except the drivers, the leather lining has seperated itself from the frame of the seat, can't seem to get it back in,very annoying.just noticed a annoying squealing from the front brakes too(possibly a bit of grit trapped in between the brakepad and the disc(would help if i didn't jet wash it .apart from that i love it !.unfortunatley has been scratched deliberatley by vandals. may have to move it on....shame ,but fantastic motor
When I first saw this I thought, 'Hmm' not bad for a Corsa!
However, I wasn't overly keen on the huge shiny black plastic console fascia or the glow in the dark volume knob! tacky and cheap looking!
Average equipment in this model, although lacks xenon style headlights which were standard on the Corsa C from Design model >
The drive feels sturdy and handles well but seriously lacks power. with it's 1.6 turbocharged engine, I expected to be wooed as there were claims it would out-run a Focus ST! Its nearly as much but as the Focus too. It sways at high speed on motor-ways is very twitchy and isn't as good as it could be. I just laughed at its way of trying to sound powerful, more like a wasp in a jar! give me the Focus ST or R32 Golf anyday!!! Nice alloys though!
As a fan of Corsa's until now, I feel so let down by the whole Corsa D! There's bags of room for improvement here vauxhall! it's really an Astra thats been sat on with those BULKY headlights.
After reading so many pre-launch reviews on the Corsa VXR, I knew we may have something special.
My first impression after sitting in the Corsa was the amount of room for all four passengers, especially to the driver and passenger. All switchgear was within easy reach without taking your eyes off the road for too long. And as for the Recaro seats... well I will feel pretty secure knowing that my cheeks wont be squashed on the drivers side window at speed on the twisty roads.
As for a slight moan is that rear passengers can really only get in the back from the driver's side.
On the road you have power, agility, great view, superb breaks and overall fun just driving. In the end I bought one to give me a fix while my motorbike hibernates in the winter months.
Clarkson slaughters Vauxhalls, but on this one he apparently said ‘it puts a smile on your face' and what more could you ask than that?. The tide might be turning.
Well done Vauxhall!
