Last week my partner purchased a new corsa 1.2i life in stunning black paint work she got a fantastic deal from blakes of chesterfield and did not get ripped off as most companies take advantage of female buyers!!!
I already own a sxi model purchased in november last year (also in black). and I love it to bits. the life has a smoother ride and still has lots of kit - CD player, electric windows and mirrors and a very nice semi gold trim on the dash, its silver on the sxi. and yes this does reflect on the winscreen but you do get used to it, its not a problem. we both get lots of attention from people looking at the cars. Her old car was a corsa club 1.2i and is a massive jump in quality and ride. and everyone should at least go out and give a new corsa a try if you are thinking of buying a super mini, and it is a super super mini.
What an awful car. My wife and I drove a 2004 1.2 Easytronic as a courtesy car for two weeks. It had 24,000 miles on it.
The car was so bad we asked the bodyshop to swop it, but they did not have another car. We gave it back anyway and hired a Fiesta ourselves.
The interior trim was OK, but even the Koreans now do a better job. The door rattle/wobble/'twang' noise as you shut the door was not inspiring.
The Easytronic transmission suffered from 'flare' when changing up through the gears. This caused everyone to lurch forward on every single shift - awful.
The engine noise and general ride at motorway speed was poor in my view: it was so noisy you had to raise your voice to speak and every bump was felt through the seat.
I hope that Vauxhall has done a better job on the new model Corsa - but it will share the same mechanicals as the one we had.
3/7/07 - HIP HIP HOORAY - AT LAST MY CAR HAS BEEN FIXED. After six months of going back and forth and arguing with Arnold Clark, Salford. They accepeted the findings of Continental Tyres and have finally fitted new discs and pads to my car. The difference is amazing, its like driving a totally different car. I have found Arnold Clark and Vauxhall extremely difficult to deal with and although I am now LOVING my new car this experience has totally put me off and I would not buy another Vauxhall . So com-on the pair of you get your acts together and try to treat your customers with a little respect . I wish all you other owners who have complaints the very best of luck - and don't give in, you will get there in the end.
I have an automatic with the Plus pack option - this is a fleet car and I have had it for just over a week, and everything about the care is good so far.
My previous car was the previous Corsa model and there is a huge jump with this car.
We have the piano-black fascia and, at first, the reflection from the black trim at night-time was a bit annoying, but like most things, you don't notice it after a short while.
The only other things I find fault with is the headlight switch, which is almost hidden, and you have to move your head to the right to see it properly. Secondly, there is a mirror on the driver's visor but not on the front passenger's visor.
These are my only complaints, which are very minor, and probably indicates how well the rest of the car performs.
I'm very satisfied.
