I'm on my third Vectra now, The first one being a Y-reg SRi 150, the second a new Vectra SRi 2.2 on a 52 plate, and I now own a 3.2 v6 24v on a 53 plate!
I just think they are great all-rounders, inside and out. The only down side to the new ones are the tyre sizes. With the 215 50 17, they are just a bit on the re-mortgage side. If only Vauxhall had chosen a lower profile, such as the 45 or even 40 it would mean that the price would be halfed!!!!
Just before I sold the 2.2, I paid nearly £140 for just the one tyre... and did that put me off? No way!!
By the way the 3.2 GSI 'ROCKS'.
Cooooorrrr what a car, even at 18 mpg when i'm lucky
I have driven a few different Vauxhalls in my time and find this car one of the best.
It feels strong and holds the road well compared to some cars of similar size. I find the Vectra an excellent towing vehicle for my five-berth caravan
Very good across the board
After recently buying this car, up to now I have had no problems at all.
The vehicle compared to the older Vectra model drives more responsively handles well on various road surfaces.
It's a more comfortable ride for driver and passenger than the older shaped models. The seats well designed and are more comfortable than previous models which seemed to be quite hard. There's plenty of acceleration power when you want to have a play.
The controls seem quite simple once you get used to them.
There's more space in the driver/passenger area, which seems to have been gained by the boot being smaller length wise but with more height
Disadvantages: The hazard warning button is close to stereo on/off button easily depressed if not used to it, would probably be better if it was more central and away from other controls. Due to the rear of the vehicle being higher than the older Vectra not good for reversing into tight spaces, would be better if distance warning system was standard feature.

Had this car for 90k from new. A 56 plate. In over 2,000,000 miles driven this one has broken down the most of any car I have had. DO NOT get a 2.0…
