    My car

I had to write a review on this excellent car to redress the negative comments that people had posted! I have had the Vectra SRI 1.9CDTI (150) NAV XP for 18 months now and done 55k miles, so I think I'm in a position to comment on the car.

Before I chose it, I test drove several other cars (Rav 4, Mazda 6, VW Passat, Audi A3) and found the Vectra to be the smoothest, quickest and most comfortable of the lot. It is still great to drive either on winding roads or motorway (where it excels) and I am happy with the fuel economy, on a motorway run I get 50mpg easily. Since getting the car I have averaged 43.7mpg on the last 55k miles.

People that queried my decision to get a Vectra (I could have had a poverty spec BMW 318!) have all changed their opinions once they have ridden in, or driven the Vectra.

I often spend 6 hours a day in the car, so can vouch for the comfort and support of the seats.

It looks great (covered in spoilers and with 19inch wheels) and the sat nav is a real plus.

There are some negatives... The sat-nav only takes the first 5 digits of a postcode, there are no electric windows in the back, and most importantly, the tyres on the 19inch wheels are difficult to get hold of and for Conti's, cost circa £220 each. So bear this in mind!

I'd recommend it, and I'll probably get the Insignia next.

I have had 3 vectras had the 1.9 diesal for 2 months on a 07 plate awfull car hated it no refinment at all diesal in my citreon van was more refined! only good thing was fuel economy, 2.0 litre turbo best on my 2nd now with x pack and 19 rubber awsome drivers car no trouble or rattles like tractor diesal!and faster than deisel despite what people say! only downside economy not brill but well worth for refinement and power, insurence good to and cheap to maintain my advice if you want diesal go for 3litre, stay well clear of 1.9 no torque between 1 and 2000 revs awfull!

    My car

i have found this car good to drive,in the 3 years i have owned it.but the down side is that every mot it has taken it has failed. This has failed on the suspension.each time it has been the springs which have been replaced.Iconsider myself a safe driver, but these mot failures have made me lose faith in my car,and now i am going to replace it, hopefully with a car that can pass an mot.

    My car

How do I sum up this car this is actually fairly easy to do. In a straight line the engine is nice and smooth and pulls very well a little noisey but not the end of the world. However when you get it off the motorway straight bits oh dear your in trouble it just can't go round bends at all in the slightest im not talking lively driving I mean it just won't go round anything without wanting to crash the smooth suppesion on a mway is great but once again show it a bend your going off into a tree. Equipment level is very basic and the sat nav is fairly ok but can be stuiped. Do the decent thing and buy a Mondeo.
