    My car

I've owned this vehicle since November 2002. The cars handles extremely well especially considering the lots of bumpy and winding roads in our country. Having said so the vehicle is still like new having covered only 2,600miles. Whilst the engine is not particularly fast whilst taking off, it feels good enough when reaching the 2,500-3,000rpm range and is extremely smooth. Whilst no mechanical defects are around, the cabin knobs seems to develop faults having both the Radio volume knob CDR2005 and the Electronic climate control unit centre knob not functioning properly. Opel do not seem to be particularly helpful in providing any form of special warranty on these units even though the vehicle has covered little mileage. The other material including the door trims and soft touch dashboard material feels very good otherwise. In sunlight the onboard computer display also fails to display data correctly but i guess thats because of our high temparatures. Surprisingly due to our rough roads the interior hasn't developed any rattles as yet.

    My car

I was very impressed with the performance and ride quality of my 150PS Vectra CDTi Energy bought in April 2004,in which I clocked-up 60,000 miles, almost all trouble free.

In nearly three years, maintenance costs were incurred for just two services and a pair of front tyres. A few other mechanical faults were rectified by Vauxhall without quibble.

The mid-range torque of the 150PS engine is breathtaking. Even driven briskly it return 45-50 mpg. If you fancy a Vectra, this is the engine to go for, but be prepared to work hard to stay within the speed limit!

However, I would not recommend a base colour if you do a lot of motorway driving. The front end of my red one chipped-up badly early on. Eventually the dealer agreed to a partial respray. My new 'Star Silver' model is not showing any signs of chipping as yet,so its worth paying that bit extra for the metalic finish.

With 20,000 miles between services, interest free credit and just £15/month to cover all running service/repair costs for three years, its hard to imagine a better motoring package. Vauxhall have really got their customer care right on the Vectra Diesel range.

    My car

With regard t so-called noisy rear suspension on 1800cc SXi hatchback: the problem is cured by renewing the front link arms between the anti-roll bar and Macpherson struts.

Sound transmits through bodywork, giving the impression it is from the rear end.

I have read several requests for help on this subject, I hope this information will ease a few headaches.
