Really disappointed. Never again. Has a bad unfixable turbo lag on the dti engine and now the flywheel has gone so i am getting rid. Looks ok, noisy drive, not worth it. Save up for a Touran!
Our 5 year old, 18,000 mile car has provided reliable service with no faults so far but expect to replace the exhaust soon. Petrol consumption is not awe inspiring at around 33mpg overall.
You need to stir up the gearbox to get any pace however, I previously had a 1.8 version and have not found a significant difference in performance.
Can't get to excited about the Zafira as it does what it is intended to do, the quality is uninspiring and there are a lot of them around. Vauxhall must be doing something right, however it does not appear to be in the customer service arena.
Worst car I have ever owned - and the worst support service to boot. I bought an '02 reg 2.2 elegance five years ago. Since then its had a new altenator, 2 batteries, 2 starter motors, a new passenger door, new rear wind screen and a new engine! NEVER EVER drive vauxhall again
I have a 53-Zafira, and the only problem I've had is the "limp-home" mode. I replaced the glow-plugs at 45,000 miles and all was well until now (82,000 miles) whereupon the limp-home mode has returned and I need yet another set of glow-plugs. If most driving was around town, I could simply afford to use public transport until the problem is rectified; however, I drive 36 miles to work in an area where public transport doesn't go and it is a real pain. Otherwise, the car has been practical, cheap and easy to drive - just a pity about the glow-plug problem.

Bought a 2003 model 2.0 HDi diesel second hand in 2004 and still running it in 2012. 11,000 miles at purchase is now 113,000. Never broken down, but…
