We purchased our Zafira a few months back and we love it, the space inside is more than adequate for us and we are a family of five. Running cost is average and the performance is first class, we have always bought Vauxhall cars because they have been reliable maybe we are just lucky but the Zafira gets my thumbs up.
I now have my car back in today.Vauxhall and dealer have agreed to foot £300 bill for dropping gearbox.Waiting now don't have much faith at present with clutch being finally resolved watch this space
We had a Xsara Picasso before and loved it but wanted something that had a slightly better build quality. We looked at various MPV's including the new C4 Picasso which we would have brought but these were so expensive at the time as they had only recently been launched. We settled for a Zafira 1.9CDTi 120.
I have to say we have owned the car since September 07 and apart from a rattling driveshaft we seem to have been luckier than others. We also have had the burning smell at the rear of the car which is the DPF regenerating itself. Told by the service department at my local dealer, maybe shouldve been told at delivery.
A couple of things which aren't so good.
1) Bench seat in the rear is not as handy as the individual seats on the Picasso 2) There are not enough cup holders or storage areas 3) Steering is heavy at stand still 4) Diesel is not as economical as i thought it would be (only averaging 35 tops)
Other than these, i would probably recommend the car. We use it for towing and it seems quite capable. Maybe the 150 would be better though.
If you are in my area, i recommend York ward and Rowlatt as they are superb in every area. I have not received this level of service since my BMW 5 years ago.
Now back to dealer Monday for removal of gearbox 3rd time.? if grease between dual mass and clutch is adequate going to check clutch etc again.I have a slip with the clutch and tolerancy level is bad feels like clutch is thuding about, stiff to operate.Has anyone else had same problem?
New dealer is good though trying to at least sort it.Poor service from previous one.I'm really hoping they may resolve it.Car has had two DMF now still no cure ?slave cylinder don't know,be grateful for any feedback
