Many Zafira owners on this and other web sites are reporting a dangerous loss of power when driving at speed, sometimes accompanied by the EMS light coming on. Vauxhall will not admit there is a problem with the Zafira and local dealers are apparently unable to rectify it. I have contacted Watchdog and suggest others do likewise.
I HAVE DRIVEN THE VAUXHALL SRI THE ELITE AND THE DESIGN WITH THE SPORTS BUTTON AND I CAN TRULY SAY THEY ARE VERY SLUGGISH THERE IS WAY TOO MUCH DRAG AND THE ENGINES CANNOT TAKE THE SLIGHTEST OF HAMMERINGS. WHEN YOU DO START RACING WHEN BRAKING AT HIGH SPEEDS THE STEERING LIKE TO TURN ITSELF TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT AND MY GOD ARE THEY TERRIBLY NOISY OVER 80MPH U CANT HERE THE PERSON SITTING IN THE BACK TALK WITHOUT THEM SHOUTING FOR 20K THATS THE PRICE OF A 5SERIES BMW LUCKLY MINE HAVE ALL BEEN COMPANY CARS BUT I SERIOUSLY WOUYLD NOT RECOMEND A ZAFIRA TO ANYONE NOT EVEN THE GSI OR VXR CAUSE I THINK EVEN THEY WOULD BE LET DOWNS LIKE THE SRI AND THE ELITE. AND JUST INCASE YOUR THINK THEY WERE ALL 07 AND 08 PLATE CARS WITH 500 MILES ON THE CLOCK BRAND NEW CARS THAT SIMPLY DID NOT LIVE UPTO EXPECTATIONS I RECCOMEND THE HONDA OR PREVIA.
Fast, Fast, Practical, It Handles like a hot hatch, did i say it was fast...
had the gsi before this and this is in a different league, active suspension makes it corner like its on rails, There is torque steer but its controllable and if you don't like it buy the 1.8...
Its a Drivers car, and a family car, its a great all round practical motor.
yu will have to get used to funny looks as you pass most cars on the road, the occasional flash and sounding of horn as people don't like the embarisment of being overtaken by a BUS.
Overall i am happy with the car, I would like to see suble changes to the interior but apart from that I can't fault it.
I normally change my cars like my underwear but i have kept this for 2 years and plan to keep it for another couple.
If you have to get an MPV because of a growing family(like me) and you have had to put your dreams of having a new Audi put on the back burner for a few years then you have to buy this car. In short no other MPV looks as good or drives as good And no other MPV will get so many admiring looks(although they could be looking at the driver)......This car is a hoot and a comfortable one at that.
