    My car

    After a year long search, I found the EOS of my dreams. May I introduce her;

    2L TDI Sport, Silver Essence, Black nappa leather, Sat nav, lux and winter packs, Parrot blue tooth.

    This car is a dream to drive, has ample back seat space, lovely quirks like a red led light giving the interior a slight red glow at night, auto lights also auto sat nav night mode, will be adding SMART TOP module next spring, (Mods4cars.com) allowing me to drop top from the existing key fob without sitting in the car, also adds other features, tilting the door mirrors when in reverse!. Like the other review, I do feel for the owners who have had bad experiences, touch wood, nothing has gone wrong, happy driving for 2 months now, she sits outside with a cover on her...oh, and she came with the VW seal oil...I oil them religously...

    My car

    I have owned my car for several months and have experienced no problems whatsoever. The car was bought as a retirement car and replaced a long line of compact executive cars which I bought for my work. The biggest surprise with the Eos was finding it was better to drive and almost as refined (roof up) as my previous car - a 2008 Mercedes C220 Auto which I liked very much. In particular the new VW common rail engine is much more refined than the Mercedes equivalent. I have had no problems with the roof mechanism and have experienced no leaks whatsoever. I have learned however that to maintain the roof seals is very advisable. The Volkswagen Eos owners blog gives very helpful advise on maintaining the integrity of the seals to ensure trouble free ownership. Volkswagen produce a special fluid which is applied to the roof seals - something I have done recently - which eliminates any rattles or noises from the roof. All in all I love the Eos and have no complaints apart from the slightly twee styling, which I personally think looks much improved on the 2011 model to be launched in January.

    My car

    I've been driving my EOS for 2 years and 11 months.

    During that time I've had repeated problems with: faulty boot mechanism (refusing to open), rattles and clunks from the roof, squealing brakes, wind noise from windows and roof seals, water pooling in the door sills, broken lock to glove compartment, corroded body work, faulty exhaust pressure sensor, roof leaks, faulty alarm sensor, faulty exhaust temp sensor.

    It has been in to the dealer for warranty fixes 16 times, costing me 600 miles on its odometer, 1200 miles worth of fuel, and 60 hours of my time.

    The dealer seem incapable of, and disinterested in, resolving the faults. VW do nothing other than refer me back to the dealer.

    The dealer have openly told me that once the warranty runs out next month, any of the issues that they have failed to fix for the last three years will officially be my problem, as once the warranty is over they will accept no responsibility.

    The VW Eos is one of the worst, and most expenisve, decisions I have ever made.
