I test drove this car a while back. The 2 litre turbo model. It was fantastic! Solid, refined, excellent build quality and a pleasure to drive!
Only one gripe, I drove it with the roof down and there was a little shudder thru the steering wheel.
So, I ordered one! The 2.0TD sport model. With a bunch of extras.....leather interior, luxury pack, metallic paint, ipod connection etc.
I only hope this car lives up to my expectations............I'm sure it will. VW build quality seems good, not quite on par with the Toyota I already drive but I am hoping for similar.
I will update this review as time goes on but in the meantime, my first impressions are good. I love the Eos........you will too if you try it.
It's pricey tho, 25k for what I want. I could get the same from Peugeot, Renault of Ford for a lot less. However, they don't have the same VW prestige or reliability, hence, the VW is my choice.
By no doubt this is the cabriolet that everybody would love to have with a rather keen price comparing to BMW and Audi but similar image and quality. Driving is superb as it drives like a cruiser on the motorway and handling like a proper coupe in terms of cornering. Although this is a non turbo but the power just kick in when you need them. Only one thing is the dealership which may turn you down as my car been damaged twice for both interior and exterior while it's being fix for paint defectives under the warranty and no compensation been offered for taking it off the road for 2 weeks out of 6.
I took this car for a test drive last week and was really impressed.
It's big enough for a family. Our buggy and a weekend bag both fit into the boot fine, and the back seats easily accomodate adults, even on long journeys.
The interior quality is on a par with the executive cars, the doors thud when they close, it has a nicely laid-out cabin, and everything looks and feels of good quality.
Yhe drive was great - even with the hood down, it feels very rigid. We drove a Sport model and it was great - it stuck to the road well but wasn't uncomfortably hard.
I'd highly recommend this car- we're in the process of ordering one now.
I have based ownership costs on the car's insurance group, and the cost to buy, because this may look expensive against it's rivals. However, when you get in you realise that this car is pitched at BMW and Audi - not Renault and Vauxhall!
Order a brochure, find your nearest dealer or book a test drive
Amazing car, once driven, never forgotton, forget all the pretenders like BMW Z4 and Mercedes SLK, they will never have the passion of a Porsche
I love this car! Handling is great, its fun to drive and even reasonably practical!
