I was looking for a Passat estate to replace my unreliable 2009 Mondeo and whilst in the VW showroom, I had a look at a Golf they had there. I was amazed at the space - at 6"3' I usually turn a car into a 3 seater when I get in, but there is no problem seating adults behind me - a really pleasant surprise. I opted for the 105bhp diesel SE after much consideration and test driving. The engine is so smooth and with the well sorted gear ratios and 190 ft/lbs of torque, I am never left wanting for any more power or flexibility. The cabin is a haven of tranquility - with tactile material on all the touch points - a really classy place to be. The seats have proved to be supportive and comfortable on long journeys and the equipment level is excellent. I chose satellite navigation, which was a good option and I can recommend the RNS310 system for its' ease of use, full address entry and the great way it links to my iPod. All in all, I'm delighted with the car - £30 per year in road fund licence and I'm getting 61 mpg. Fabulous!
had my new golf the 1st of march is a 1.6tdi se dsg have to say the best thing i did was spec the dsg box is silky smooth hardly feel a gear change! on the economy front again is excellent i do a fair bit of motorway driving and am achiveing late 50,s early 60,s at legal limits. The only dissapointment ive had is the release of the match with blue tooth every car in the 21st century should have blue tooth why didnt the se get it! anyway grumble over with the golf is a good cheap and comfortable car to own!
Ok i have had my DSG 1.6 se for 11 months and wow what a great car, if i don't use my right foot to much on the motorway (70mph) i can get 60mpg in town i get 42 ish mpg. It had enough power but i purchased a diy chip it gave me +30bhp extra and i really notice the extra power. It is a great system as it fits in 10 mins and the same in reverse so no need to touch the sealed ECU box and void the warranty. It has all the goodies i need in fact more than my last car which was a 1.6 se beema. In fact my golf is a much better car than the series 1 petrol beema I can, did cruise the motorways to Spain at 100 mph + for hours at a time and still got 55 mpg. ALL I ALL BUY AND TRY A GREAT CAR.
I bought this unassuming star a year and 14000…
