Please can someone let me know what the fuel consumption of this Polo is, because my Polo does only 320 miles with 40 litres of petrol. I've tried to ask the dealership but they seem to be unhelpful people when it comes to problem-solving.
I also had pin-size paint coming off at one of the wheelarches. I logged it with the VW dealer and it's been more than two months and no answer.
Being honest, the car's interior and exterior is better than other similar superminis, but fuel consumption is worse, as I used to drive a Renault Megane which used to do 450 miles with 40 litres of petrol.
If you are not too fussy about the running costs, then it's an ideal car, but if you are on a tight budget like myself, then go for any other make, not for a Polo.
I would like to write a review on my car. To clarify my name is Janice, Whatcar would not accept my registration because my email address is the same as my husband who has written a a review on his car ? Shame on you Whatcar in this age of equality. Hope it can be sorted.
I've had my Polo 7 months and done 6,000 miles. Love it, no problems and great dealership (Sinclair). Quality car throughout and very economical. Only slight whinge, the SE is not cheap..........but has no fogs, or outside temperature gauge, which I miss. Can't believe the power from such a small engine. Have to speak as you find, and I'm extremely pleased with my purchase.
My fiance bought me a polo last week, brand newm I have fallen in love with it!as the owner of many cars previously, it is far superior to any other car. Extremely solid and safe. The interior is gorgeous, gear stick moves so easily and the drive is enjoyable. I fill it with 30 pounds of petrol andthat lastsfor about ten-fourteen days. Excellent economy, breaks fantastic, steering superb. Sound system sounds fabulous! I would recommend one to anyone lookin for a smalll car with excellent quality, reliability and economy. Amazing Car!!!Love it!
Having spent several months deciding which three cars I was going to check out, I was not impressed with the fact that Northern Ireland could not provide a test drive in either a VW polo or a Toyota Yaris diesel, this is a poor reflection on both vw and Toyota, they could both however provide a test drive in a petrol, not what I was looking for. The Corsa SXI CDTI, 3rd choice, demo diesel was available and was an impressive drive, but, I was worried about residual value. VW made more of an effort to accommodate my needs, Toyota on the other hand have yet to provide a test drive in a diesel Yaris, very poor effort for Toyota. I chose the Polo TDI ‘red I’ (80bhp) SE because of its level of equipment. I added the optional rear spoiler and 17” alloys and to my dismay, the SE model come without Front Fog lights but comes standard in the lower S Spec, at least the salesman was willing to haggle. Bad news salesman was reluctant to put in an order until he had a firm commitment from us to buy, not ideal if they can’t provide a demo to test drive, but with the exception of a slightly tappy sounding diesel engine, the cars performance and economy is superb, 62mpg average. So although I took a gamble, as far as I am concerned the Polo is a winner.
