    My car

We have had this car for coming up to a year (ex demo) It is an easy car to drive, effortless acceleration and you can drive for miles and miles with Volvo's comfortable seats. Good economy, around 45 mpg. Luggage space is a bit limited but this is a compact estate, not a V70. I also have a 2008 V50 2.4i Auto as my company car and in my view the 2.0D is undoubtably the better car of the two and the one to have. Have done 20k miles in the 2.4i and manage to get circa 34 mpg out of it (not bad)

    My car

Got this car after two years with an appalling SAAB 9-3.

The Volvo is average to good in most areas, from the outside it looks great.

The auto is a slight disappointment, rather slow and the cornering ability for the 'sports set up' is questionable. The estate boot cover should be of much better quality though and check the seats, not the most comfortable.

Motorway cruising is fantastic, eats up the miles. The Diesel engine growls great when pushed. Not used the dealer yet, 11,000 on the clock, which is a good sign. I was on first name terms with the SAAB dealer at this point!

    My car

I have a 2.0D Se Sport in Barants Blue. The car looks fantastic and drives beautifully. Having progressed from a Focus Estate I was expecting similar ride and handling characteristics (which are fantastic in the Focus) and I found them to be even better. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the traction when accelerating is far better than the Focus which spins its wheels very easily despite the traction control. The V50 is vastly superior in this respect.

Comfort is superb, the interior is first class and with metallic paint, 18" alloys and a classy and understated body kit the car looks the business too. Buy one and you wont be disappointed.
