    My car

I bought my VXR8 new in July 2007 and after initial teething troubles with the central locking, I have been delighted with its performance. I have now covered 20,000 miles from new. Having previously driven a 740 BMW followed by a 750 BMW, a Mercedes S500 and a Jaguar XJR, the fun factor with the VXR8 (VIXER)is immense but it needs careful handling in the wet. This year the car has had 2 visits to the dealer to sort out suspension faults and it is now running like new. Some paint faults on the front spoiler are now evident, with chips beginning to delaminate the top laquer coating. The car has never failed to start and get me to my destination. Both of my BMW 7 series cars suffered from locked on handbrakes, the Mercedes locked in "park" on the tansmission (and cost £4,000 to fix) and the Jag suffered from rattling cam followers, a drive wheel pulley which fell off and a leaking radiator. I do not want to talk about depreciation but suffice to say the Vauxhall will win hands down after 3 years!
