Bought the BlueMotion on Match spec from my local dealer, Inchcape, in November after a test drive and reading all the reviews. Originally went in for the basic Bluemotion, but was soon impressed by the extra equipment on the Match spec for only a little extra and not much difference in mpg - allegedly! Inchcape did a brilliant deal, at 4.9% on a PCP for 3 years at 15K miles, matching 'Drive the Deal's' best broker price and offering full book price on our 41/2 year old Laguna,as well as throwing in £1K dealer contribution and free service plan for 3 years. Add to that a ready built up model in the colour we wanted, which came with extra air bags and tyre pressure monitor at no extra cost, and we took delivery within a week. Great car, plenty of room despite being smaller that the Laguna, enough storage, and love all the equipment, especially Bluetooth and Cruise control which works brilliantly on the motorways. Praise: great service and attention to detail from Inchcape Telford. Car well built and a joy to drive both around town and on motorways. Everything works as it should. Criticisms: rear windscreen needs wiping/cleaning frequently despite a rear spoiler and mudflaps whenever it rains or the road is dirty. Consumption after 4K miles at 55 average not really as good as claimed for the model even allowing for the extra Match spec. Seen high 60's on the motorway on c/c, but lows of 25 in town. Better than the 130hp Laguna, but not what was promised.
Being a mum of two who has had 3 X5's the last being a very nice 40d M Sport, the decision to go to a smaller car was one which did fill me with dread…
I wrote a review for this car when I first took delivery in July 2011, and overall I'd still say its an ok car. However, in terms of the owning…
