We list the five cleanest coupes in their class and recommend three we think you should consider.
Coupes: What Car? Recommends
1 Audi TT 2.0 turbodiesel
The latest addition to the TT range is a 168bhp turbodiesel with 258lb ft of pulling power. It has the performance of a hot hatch, but will leave them behind when they have to stop for fuel, because it averages 53.3mpg. Low emissions of 139g/km are another bonus, as are the great ride and handling and strong resale values.
2 BMW 320d Coupe
This car delivers pretty much everything you could want from a coupe. It has wonderful handling and steering and plenty of space for carrying four adults. Throw in great economy and you have a clear recommendation for this class.
3 Volkswagen Scirocco 1.4 TSI
A sporty, high-quality coupe with a turbocharged petrol engine has got to be pretty dirty and thirsty, right? In the case of the VW Scirocco 1.4 TSI, no. Its clever engine and comparatively light weight mean average fuel economy of over 40mpg and CO2 emissions of just 154 g/km. It’s also great to look at and great to drive, and even though it's the cheapest model in the range, there are no compromises to be made.
