Aston Martin Vantage V12
* Full report * Every major car launch * Complete rundown of Geneva show...
Aston Martin isn't holding back with the superlatives at Geneva motor show, describing its Vantage V12 as the most potent car in its 95-year history.
Based on the V8 Vantage, the V12 will be powered by a 510bhp 6.0-litre engine with 420lb ft of pulling power. It has a top speed of 190mph and blasts from 0-62mph in 4.2 seconds.
Aston Martin says the car has been honed for supreme driving performance, and features several race-developed materials and components. As a result, it is only about 50kg heavier than the V8 Vantage, despite having a substantially heavier engine.
However, the car is not without luxuries: electrically adjustable seats, electric mirrors, cruise control and Bluetooth are all standard.
Production will be limited to 300-500 cars a year, with the V12 going on sale in May, with the first vehicles to be delivered in the autumn.
Prices will start at 169,000.
