The high-performance Audi S3 Sportback has been revealed at the Geneva motor show.
It comes with the same 296bhp 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine that's found in the Sportback's three-door sibling, which was revealed at the Paris motor show last year. This will take it from 0-62mph in just 5.0 seconds when paired with the S tronic twin-clutch automatic gearbox.
As well as the two extra doors, the S3 Sportback has a longer wheelbase than the three-door, providing more room for occupants and luggage.
The S3 Sportback comes with permanent four-wheel drive and sports suspension.
It also features a system that lets drivers change throttle responses, steering set-up and the speed of gearchanges. Buyers can also choose the optional magnetic ride system, which allows the driver to change the suspension set-up.
To set it apart from the standard A3 Sportback, the S3 gets a bespoke front grille with S badging, redesigned bumpers and air inlets on the wings. It also features aluminium door mirrors, widened sills, a rear spoiler and a chrome quad exhaust.
Inside, the S3 Sportback gets part-leather sport seats, aluminium pedals and S logos on the steering wheel and dashboard.
Pricing and UK specifications will be confirmed later, but Audi has confirmed it will cost almost exactly the same as the outgoing car, meaning a price of around 34,200.
The five-door S3 is expected to appear at the Geneva motor show in March and will be available to order from April. The first cars will be delivered in September.
