The DS3 returned 63mpg in our real-world tests and costs nothing to tax, so running costs are low.
It’s a hatchback that strikes a balance between economy and style, allowing buyers to customise it to their heart’s desires. There’s a choice of 11 body colours and four roof shades, an extensive range of graphics for the roof and the option of colour-coded alloys and door mirrors.
The interior features an imaginatively styled dashboard with chrome-rimmed dials and colour-coded panels to give a premium feel to the supermini.
Road noise is an issue with the 17-inch alloys that come with this trim, and space is pretty tight in the back seats.
Should I add any options?
Stability, cruise control and electric windows come with entry-level DSign, air conditioning, front LED running lights and tinted rear windows are added with DStyle, and DSport brings climate control, Bluetooth, 17-inch alloys, a rear spoiler, chrome side rubbing strips and aluminium pedals.
In the optional extras, a upgraded stereo can be added for £200, and metallic paint costs £495, but none of the add-ons are necessities.
Anything else I should know?
The quoted discount includes £600 for buyers who do not currently own a Citroen. If you own a Citroen, you’ll need to add £600 on to the price.
