The 1.2-litre TSI engine performs as well in the Yeti as it does in the dinky Fabia, while still returning a respectable 45mpg.
SE trim is well equipped, so is our the pick of the bunch, offering 17-inch alloys, climate control, a six-disc CD changer and rear parking sensors.
Despite the high ride height, the driving dynamics of the Yeti are decent, so there’s a fun element to it that some other crossovers lack.
Our main complaint about the Yeti is the ride, as it’s crude and unsettled on all but the smoothest surfaces at all speeds.
The bluff front end of the Yeti causes a fair bit of wind noise at high speeds, but the engine is one of the quieter units on offer.
Should I add any options?
The SE is already well-equipped, so leave it as it is and enjoy the saving instead of adding any bells and whistles.
