Kia has announced prices for its new Sportage Crossover, with the range kicking off at 16,645 for the entry-level 1.6 petrol model.

A 2.0-litre diesel 'First Edition' special edition model went on sale last month for 20,777, with most of the 700 cars earmarked for the UK already sold.
Earlier this month, Kia said a 2.0-litre petrol First Edition would be released for 19,495. However the prices revealed today are for the full range.

The line-up comprises of a 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre petrol versions and a 1.7 and 2.0-litre diesels. The smaller petrol and diesel engines are fitted to the two-wheel-drive models, while the 2.0-litre versions are four-wheel-drive. The car is available in 1, 2 and 3 trims.

The complete range goes on sale November 1, and full specifications will be released next month.

The Sportage is good value and has a spacious interior, but it isn't great to drive and the 1.7 diesel engine is noisy.
