The Mercedes E-Class may be more expensive than many of its rivals but it comes well equipped, with heated seats, automatic lights and wipers as standard, and impressive safety kit.
It's also bigger and more practical than most other executive cars in its class, with a huge boot, and passengers are well looked after, with plenty of leg- and head-room.
There are downsides though, such as fiddly controls, while certain features such as folding rear seats cost extra.
