Skoda has added the Greenline versions of all of its models to the Motability scheme. The Fabia hatchback and estate, the Rapid and Rapid Spaceback, Roomster, Yeti and Yeti Outdoor, the Octavia in hatchback and estate bodystyles and the flagship Superb are all now available as Motability cars. The Fabia estate and hatch are both available with zero advance payment, too. The additions mean that all Skoda models bar the vRS are available on the scheme. Skoda has also revamped its Motability website, which has information on offers and has a downloadable Motability price list. It is found at www.skoda.co.uk/motability.
The Range Rover Hybrid Long Wheelbase has been revealed to the public at the Beijing motor show. It pairs a 3.0-litre SDV6 diesel engine with a 35kW electric motor; combined, they produce 169g/km of CO2, and promise an average fuel economy of 44.1mpg. The car is capable of travelling for one mile on electric power alone, before the engine kicks in. Land Rover says that the installation of the hybrid powertrain has not removed any of the Range Rover's practicality, while its 4x4 capability is also unchanged. The LWB Hybrid is primarily aimed at the Chinese market, but it will be offered in the UK. Order books will open in May, with the first deliveries expected by the end of 2014.
