Upgrades galore from Porsche

Porsche has announced that there will be an upgraded diesel engine available in the Cayenne 4x4 later this year, along with more options for both it and the Panamera saloon.

The Cayennes new diesel engine has been tweaked to produce 242bhp an increase of 5bhp. It will be more efficient, too, with average economy up to 39mpg and CO2 emissions cut to 189g/km. Its also quicker and 20kg lighter than the outgoing version.

A new range of options available on the Cayenne include a Powerkit for the Turbo model (which increases power to 533bhp), ceramic composite brakes and cosmetic upgrades such as new decorative stitching and leather packages.

The Panamera luxury saloon will also come with a new range of optional goodies, including wireless internet access, a Lane Change Assist system, bi-xenon headlights in black surrounds and a redesigned sports exhaust tailpipe.

Prices for all these upgrades will be announced closer to the June on-sale date.
