Used Audi A3 Sportback vs Mini Clubman

If you're in the market for a premium hatchback the Audi A3 and Mini Clubman are both excellent family cars, but which one makes the most sense as a used buy? Read on as we find out...

Used Audi A3 Sportback vs Mini Clubman

Our Verdict

These are two very evenly matched and similarly equipped family cars, with running costs that on paper are practically the same. The A3 has the nicer interior, though, by quite a margin, and is better to drive and also the more refined. It’s the classier product, without a doubt. The Clubman, meanwhile, is decent to drive and distinctive to look at.

However, it can’t match the A3’s quality, nor its refinement. Where it scores is in being £1000 cheaper to buy at this age, although it’s the Audi that should hold on to its value slightly better in the future. That being the case we’d pick the A3, but if you needed to save the money on the purchase price and went for the Clubman instead you’d still be getting what is a practical and pleasing car.
