The 1.0-litre petrol engine may not be rapid but it makes the Picanto very economical as it averages 67.3mpg and emits just 99g/km of CO2. This '11/61 car has done nearly 27,000 miles and is a bargain at £6988.
Volkswagen Up 1.0 (60) Take Up 3dr
When the Volkswagen Up was released we named it our Car of the Year 2012 so it's fair to say that we're big fans. The Up is a premium product in a city car footprint. This 1.0-litre petrol Take Up three-door model costs £7490. For that you get a funky-looking small car that is less than a year old and has done just over 5500 miles.
