The Porsche Cayenne is a premium large SUV that competes with rivals including the BMW X5 and Range Rover Sport. It offers the sharpest handling in the class, and has an array of potent petrol and diesel engines to satisfy most tastes. It’s also fairly practical and surprisingly capable off road.
However, it’s let down by poor standard equipment levels, and the fact that there’s no option to have it with seven seats, as you can with the BMW and Range Rover. It isn’t as refined as you might expect, either.
